The Fine Print - AKA Policies, Terms and Conditions

We all hate it, but what'cha gonna do?

About our shipping

Managing shipping costs is always a challenge, especially for small manufacturers. We live in a world dominated by large online retailers who use their huge shipping volumes to negotiate rates far below what small companies are able to offer. This often leads to sticker shock at the checkout page.

We're addressing this by applying up to 10% of each order to the cost of shipping, applied directly to shipping quotes at checkout. This means many orders will ship free, and others will benefit from a significant reduction in the cost of getting your ShapeCaster order to you. Enjoy!

Our email policy

We don't give out or sell email addresses or other customer information to anyone. Ever. Period.
If Da Cops show up, we nevah hoid'a dose guys. Honest, Officer!

We will occasionally send customers or others information about our products, kilnworking techniques, and special offers, unless you specifically opt out or ask us not to. We promise this won't be too frequent or annoying, and we'll include at least some technical or other related content to make it worth your while.

Warranty

ShapeCasters are guaranteed against failure for the life of the product. This is easy for us because we have yet to hear of a single failure in the many years (and many thousands of forms) we've been making them. If you are unhappy with your results or are having problems using our products, please contact us. We'll be happy to render reasonable assistance.

That having been said: We cannot be responsible for any product that has been misused or abused, such as (but not limited to) failure to properly line forms with fiber, improper placement in the kiln, or overheating (defined as use above 1500 °F / 815 °C.) We also cannot be held responsible for the acceptability, usability or merchantability of any glassware made with the ShapeCaster system. Further, by purchasing and using an part of the ShapeCaster system, the customer agrees that they understand that this system is intended for the production of works of art, and that any results they obtain may vary in dimension, shape, color or other aspects and are entirely a result of their own skill level in using this system.

In any case, Design Services, Inc. or Artifex Toolworks (the manufacturer) cannot be held responsible for any incidental or consequential damages, and manufacturer's liability is limited to either the original or replacement cost, whichever is less. Customer also agrees to release and hold harmless the manufacturer from any third party claims.

Refunds

Sorry, all sales are final. If you're having trouble getting the results you want, let us know and we'll do our best to help. If you find you've bought the wrong size, contact us about an exchange. Be aware, though, that shipping charges involved often eliminate any economic advantage.
